Maple Baked Apples with Raisins
A new way to prepare an old favorite.

6 Medium McIntosh Apples (uniform in size)
1/2 cup raisins
6 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1/2 cup each maple syrup, and orange juice
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Core apples from stem ends, leaving the bottoms intact. Place in shallow baking dish.

Mix raisins and brown sugar and pack into apple cavities. Pour syrup over apples and orange juice into bottom of dish.

Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over apples.

Bake in 350-degree oven, basting 2 or 3 times, until apples are tender, 30 minutes to 1 hour (depending on size of apples).

Serve warm or at room temperature, with cream.
